Welcome to CanvasWest.com

When you need a sailboat cover, outboard engine cover, fender or any other type of marine canvas cover for your boat, a quality custom marine canvas fabricator is your source for quality workmanship and materials. Custom-designed boat covers made of canvas will provide you with years of protection for your powerboat or sailboat and its fittings.

The best marine canvas covers are custom-designed and custom-made for a perfect fit. The fabricator will need to see your boat to take measurements, then hand-fabricate your covers according to your needs, to professionally fit and install your new marine canvas cover, using top quality fabrics so that your custom covers will be durable, fade-resistant, and tough enough to severe sun and weather conditions.

Quality boat covers offer protection from rain and from interior moisture build-up inside your boat. Additionally, covers keep dirt and other debris from getting into the boat, and help keep out rodents, birds, and other invaders that will damage your boat.

Caring For and Cleaning Marine Canvas

All canvas covers should be cleaned regularly. Salt water leaves behind a residue that holds moisture on the surface, which will result in mildew.

Start by brushing off any loose dirt or soil, then wash with a solution of non-detergent soap and warm water. After washing, rinse thoroughly with cool water to rinse away all soap residue. Be sure to avoid detergent-based soaps, as the detergent will damage the finish and make the canvas vulnerable to the elements. Sudbury, Lux and Ivory Soap are good soaps to use. After washing your canvas covers, be sure to dry them thoroughly. Never fold or store the canvas while it's wet. You can apply a water-repellant coating to the canvas to help keep it in good condition.

You can help prevent the growth of mildew on your canvas covers by spraying them with a solution of 50% white vinegar and 50% water. Keep it in a spray bottle, and spray it on your canvas covers whenever you wash down the boat.

You can cover your entire boat, or any part of your boat, with a custom-made marine canvas cover, including outboard engine covers, helm covers, hatch covers, tiller covers, fender covers, sail covers, and more. Every bit of protection you can provide to your boat will help keep it looking and functioning better for the duration of its life.
